Division of Rheumatology
Overview
Pediatric rheumatic diseases are a complex array of chronic conditions that can have a significant impact on children and adolescents. The Division of Rheumatology focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and management of these challenging diseases. Early and accurate diagnosis is crucial to prevent long-term complications and ensure the best possible outcomes for patients. Our practitioners see patients at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pediatric Rheumatology Center, a leading, state-of-the-art rheumatology center for children and adolescents.
Our Mission
- To provide the best possible patient care for children with rheumatologic disorders
- To develop a forum for teaching rheumatologic pediatric diseases
- To develop new research insights into the cause and treatment of these complex disorders
As part of our mission, the division serves its communities by conducting outreach through community medical education at other clinical sites.
Education
Our faculty is committed to teaching medical students, residents, and adult rheumatology fellows about patients with pediatric rheumatic diseases. Faculty serve as preceptors for case discussions, and participate in lectures, as clerkship mentors, and assist with physical diagnosis sessions.
