Overview

Welcome to the Division of Critical Care

The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (BMSCH) is a 20-bed, state-of-the-art multidisciplinary inpatient service that provides a full range of services to critically ill and injured children from birth to adulthood in a patient- and family-centered environment.

The family and patient are invited to join the PICU multidisciplinary team during patient care rounds. Families and patients have the opportunity to participate in their care plans, ask questions, and contribute to rounds. We welcome partnering with both inpatient and outpatient providers to help coordinate care for their patients.

COVID-19 Response Continues

We remain vigilant in our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are learning together with our colleagues locally and around the world. Our division continues to meet the challenge clinically by treating the sickest of children and young adults. Concurrently, we focused our academic work on understanding the virus and the various ways it affects the children we care for.
