Post Graduate

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition is active in resident teaching. It participates in case conferences, morning report, noon conferences as well as active instruction during floor rounds. Faculty members in the Division have acted as resident advisors and served on committees for resident education.

The residents during the Pediatric Gastroenterology elective are given a packet of core articles which provide topics to be covered and discussed during the rotation. The residents attend daily outpatient clinics, see inpatient consults, have multiple one-on-one lectures / teaching sessions as well as attend pathology conference, journal club and pediatric gastroenterology case conference. The residents also have the opportunity to watch a variety of procedures during the rotation and have an understanding for the indication of them all; the gastroenterology elective is one of the more popular electives of the Departments. The Division has closely mentored and supervised residents who have chosen to pursue a career in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition.
